2015-2016 Lodging Tax Request for Proposals

The City of Fife is soliciting applications for Lodging Tax revenues in 2015. Organizations wishing to apply must use this Lodging Tax Application Form. Please do not include any supplemental documentation. All proposals must meet the LTAC Guidelines as created by the Fife Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). The LTAC may also review funding requests for 2016, although no guarantee of funding can be given. The LTAC is especially interested in receiving applications for a City-wide rebranding effort.

As a reminder, the State Legislature passed ESHB 1253 which amended the RCW pertaining to lodging taxes. According to the application requirements, applicants for lodging tax funds must provide estimates of how any funds received are projected to increase the number of people traveling for business or pleasure. Subsequent to their receipt and use of funds, all recipients must submit a report describing the actual number of people who traveled for business or pleasure in relation to the spent funds.

The LTAC Guidelines explain who can use lodging tax revenues, what such revenues may be used for, the information required from applicants, how recipients will be selected, and the statutory reporting requirements for lodging tax revenues.

Each organization receiving funding will be required to submit appropriate documentation to receive reimbursement of any approved lodging tax funds. Also, each organization is required to submit two progress reports to the city, the first being due in June and the other in November.

Proposals are due no later than the close of business, 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 15, 2014. Please contact Laurel McQuade (lmcquade@cityoffife.org) with any questions regarding the application process.
