Silver Sneakers Healthways Membership
The Fife Community Center is a Silver Sneakers site. This gives adults 65+ on Medicare with the following supplemental health plans: AARP Medicare Complete by United Healthcare, Asuris NW Health, Group Health, Health Alliance Medicare, Humana, Premera Blue Cross, Providence Health Plan, Regence Blue Shield of Washington and Soundpath Health, access to the following classes at the Community Center for not cost. Silver Sneakers classes are available to all people 50+ for a fee.

Silver Sneakers Classic
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.

AAA Driver’s Safety Class
American Driving Services is accepting reservations for its refresher course on defensive driving skills. The course gives practical guidance for traffic accident prevention and enhances driver safety and confidence. Successful course completion qualifies drivers 55 years of age and over for automobile insurance premium discounts. Check with your insurance agent for the amount and duration of the discount. To register for the class, please mail the fee, send checks only, payable to American Driving Services, P.O. Box 66681, Seattle, WA 98166-0681. Your fee is nonrefundable but is transferable to another class at any of our locations. You will receive a confirmation letter with the details by mail or email. SHIBA, (Statewide Health Insurance Benefit Advisors), is a free and unbiased Medicare counseling service provided by the WA State Office of Insurance Commissioner. SHIBA volunteer counselors can help you navigate the Medicare system, make informed decisions, know your rights and assist you in spotting fraud attempts. Monthly, in person, SHIBA counseling is available at the Fife Community Center! Join SHIBA counselor, Jayne on the 3rd Wednesday monthly starting on August 19th! Jayne will give a short Medicare educational talk @ 11:00 a.m. and then will be available for one on one assistance from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Come ready with your Medicare questions. Join us as we travel north to a wonderful lavender farm during its peak of the season! The beautifully landscaped property is yours to stroll, picnic, u-pick or just sit and relax. The farm store offers a large range of lavender products including, plants, fresh cut bouquets, aromatherapy, cleaning, home decor, bath & body, and culinary items. Lunch on own.

Theo Chocolate Factory Tour
At Theo Chocolate factory tours, they entertain you with the story of cocoa, including the extraordinary transformation of the cocoa fruit into what we know and love as chocolate! They will also touch on the social and environmental issues related to cocoa and cocoa farmers. Best of all, you’ll get to try their amazing products! The first half hour of the tour is seated, while the second half hour is a guided walking tour through our facilities. After the tour, we will go to Tutta Bella Pizzeria for a delicious lunch and then take some time to go see the Fremont Troll before heading home! Join us for this fun day in Fremont! Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival Trip
Crabfest is a celebration of the Olympic Peninsula’s seafood, maritime and cultural traditions, and is ranked as one of the best seafood festivals in the United States. The festival takes place along the scenic Port Angeles waterfront, an easy stroll away from the MV Coho terminal. Crabfest activities include the ‘Grab-a-Crab’ derby, live music entertainment, cooking demonstrations, the Great Downtown Crab Hunt, over 60 local arts and crafts booths. This trip also includes a lunch of steamed or chilled whole Dungeness crab with corn on the cob from Sunny Farms and Nash’s Dungeness organic coleslaw. Registration Deadline: October 5th

Garden d’Lights features over 1/2 million lights which transform the Bellevue Botanical Garden into a blossoming winter wonderland.
