Metro Parks Tacoma “Metro Art’s” program offers dance programs in Fife.

Ballet

Winter Session 1: January 9- February 13

Beginning Ballet (Ages 3-5)

Metro Arts’ ballet classes focus on technique, posture, alignment, creative expression and performance.

Days: Wednesdays

Times: 4:15 – 4:45 p.m.

Cost: $42.75/Resident $47.75/Non-Resident

 

Beg/Intermediate Ballet (Ages 6-10)

This class focuses on technique, posture, alignment, expression & performance.

Days: Wednesdays

Times: 5:15-6.00 p.m.

Cost: $64/Resident, $69/Non-Resident

Jazz

Winter Session 1: January 9 – February 13

This class focuses on classic and contemporary jazz and lyrical techniques with an emphasis on  turns, leaps, musicality, and improvisation. Students are engaged in a supportive and save environment that is taught at age and ability level.

Days: Wednesdays

Times: 4:45-5:15 p.m.

Cost: $42.75/Resident, $47.75/Non-Resident

Beg/Intermediate Jazz (Ages 6-10)

BRICKS 4 KIDZ

Junior Robotics Using Lego Tech

(Ages 5-9)

Children as young as 5-9 years of age can have fun learning robotics! Using software while working on laptops, students will be able to program the model builds they craft using Bricks 4 Kidz model plans and LEGO® technology. WeDo bridges the physical world, represented by the models and the virtual world of computers and programming software, providing a hands-on learning experience that actively involves young students in their own learning process.

Days: Tuesdays 1/8-2/12

Times: 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Location: Fife Community Center

Cost: $80 Resident / $85 Non Resident

Advanced Robotics Using Lego Tech

(Ages 9-13)

This exciting class is geared to children 9 and above, whether experienced or not. Bricks 4 Kidz utilizes the latest Mindstorms® technologies, programming and their unique robot models. Students are introduced to the EV3 graphic programming language, motors, and sensors, equipping them at an early age to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. STEM concepts and teamwork are combined in this action packed class where kids learn real-life skills while having real-kid fun!

Days: Tuesdays 2/19-3/26

Time: 4:30-6 p.m.

Location: Fife Community Center

Cost: $115 Resident / $125 Non-Resident

Registration Information

Registration for all sessions opens August 6, 2018. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Each session has its own registration deadline. Registration can be done in person, by phone or online at cityoffife.org. Payment is due at time of registration. There is a $10 late fee per family if registering after the registration deadline.
*Sessions with holidays or closures will be prorated or adjusted accordingly.

  • Private lessons are available.
  • M–TH: 9:30 a.m., 12, 12:30, 7:30–8 p.m.
    Saturday: 8:30–9 a.m., 12:30–1, 1–1:30 p.m.
    Sunday: 2–2:30 p.m., 2:30–3 p.m., 3–3:30 p.m.
  • The cost is $28.50 per 30-minute lesson.
  • *24 hours notice is required for any private lesson cancellation.
