FEMA Flood Maps

FEMA’s Flood Maps – Effective March 7, 2017

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report reflecting proposed flood hazard determinations within all of Pierce County, effective March 7, 2017. The FIRM’s include the addition or modification of base flood elevations, base flood depths, special flood hazard area boundaries, zone designations, and the regulatory floodway (see links below). The maps for the City of Fife also identifies a new seclusion area. This is an area that has not been shown to comply with Section 65.10 of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations (44CFR65.10), due to the non-accredited levee, and will be reviewed and may be revised at a later time.
